Interesting Shaped Racquets Rackets
Hi Everyone, I am interested if anyone remembers playing with any of these racquets. Personally I remember hitting with the Snauwert Ergonom.
Did anyone play with that double hander?? That looks really interesting. What about that bent handled one.
How did they play? What worked and didn’t work? Was it hard to serve with but great on ground strokes? Tell us leave a comment.
Actually there is one on the site called Maynard Air Racquet. It looks like you use a bike pump to lock the strings into the frame of the racquet.

Also there is one “Blackburne Double String” which has 2 sets of strings on each side of the frame. Imaging stringing it. The first side would be ok but what about the second side!
Did anyone ever use play or string that racquet?
Enjoy Michael

Hi Michael, Just so people know the racquets are:
Top LR Bio Gripper, Gauthier, Topway, Wilson Javelin, MacGregor Bergelin
Mid: Dunlop Predator,Major Nazka, Fox WB210 Ceramic Pro, Snauwaert Ellipse, The Handler (two grips)
Bottom: Blackburne double strung, Wilson Legacy, Spin 300g, Chris 5 Star, Lacoste Equijet, Bancroft Slingshot.
The one I will try one day is the Ergonom. Because it strikes the ball in effect with diagonal strings the kick on serve is meant to be quite sensational.
For more interesting contemporary racquets check out this section of the site also…… Rod

I have played with the BLACKBURNE 107 double strung racquet.
It really is not a bad racquet and has some advantages. You can put a lob any spot on the court you want. Its easy on the arm. Take a look on their website for a complete look at the advertised advantages.
The only real problem i found was it being too head heavy with the Double Strings. They never took off even when they worked with the REEBOK advertising Guru that put Reebok on the map.
At the end i have hit with many worse racquets than the Blackburnes

Rod, I knew Mike Maynard in Oregon when he was designing his Air racquet. He bought several Tretorn Steel models that I used at that time from me. They had removable discs that were interchangable. I had only 3 frames, but about a dozen discs! Not sure if he got the idea from Tretorn or simply used them for testing his concept. I have actually used the Fox, Snauwaert, Handler, Chris, and Spin models in tournaments!! All the Best, Greg High
